Dino Morea, DJ Akeel And Sanjay Khan’s Assets Worth Crores Seized By ED In Fraud And Money Laundering Case — Reports
According to the latest report, Enforcement Directorate has seized some worthy assets of Dino Moria and Sanjay Khan, and DJ Aqeel in a money laundering case. Read deets here
Actor Dino Morea seemed to be in legal trouble as his assets worth crores have been seized by the Enforcement Directorate, in connection with a money laundering case related to bank fraud, as reported by news agency PTI. The reports further mentioned that along with Dino, assets of Sanjay Khan, and DJ Aqeel were also seized by ED. The assets are seized under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) Furthermore, on Friday, ED informed that the case is related to a Gujarat-based pharmaceutical company, Sterling Biotech Group, and its promoters and brothers Nitin Sandesara and Chetan Sandesara are absconding.
As per the report, the case allegedly involves a sum of Rs 14,500 crore in bank-loan frauds; however, ED believes ‘the amount is even greater than the scam that was committed by fugitive businessman Nirav Modi. The PTI report also mentioned the value of the assets. Sanjay Khan’s assets are worth Rs 3 crore while Dino Morea's assets are Rs 1.4 crore. As for Aqeel Abdulkhalil Bachooali — popularly known as DJ Aqeel — his assets costs Rs 1.98 crore. Reportedly, the assets consisted of three vehicles, several bank accounts, shares, and mutual funds.
The reports also mentioned, earlier, the investigating agency questioned Morea, and Aqeel in the case and they had enough evidence to claim that ‘the Raaz actor and Aqeel were illegally paid by the Gujarat-based pharmaceutical company, back in 2011-12.’
Meanwhile, on Friday, actor Yami Gautam was summoned by ED for questioning in an alleged case of violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA).
