As soon as Diwali is around the corner, we see celebs in the tinsel town attending pre-Diwali and Diwali bashes in town. The highlights of these parties are food, card games, glamour factor and those inside pictures from parties that go viral. After the world came to a standstill in 2020 with the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, celebs did not host any parties and seem like a similar scenario would be witnessed even this year, has been reported by India Today.
Celebs who are known to host Diwali parties are Anil & Sunita Kapoor, Bachchans, Ekta Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty and more. However, as reported in India Today, biggies of showbiz have decided to not host any lavish party. The reason behind giving a miss to big starry parties is the filmmakers and people associated with movies, being nervous as to how the audience will receive their movies, all set to release in the upcoming months. While Ekta Kapoor will reportedly have an intimate party at her place, Shilpa Shetty who has been upset due to her husband Raj Kundra’s involvement in the pornography case has decided to cancel the party.
Designer Manish Malhotra is said to be confused. Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan will be hosting a party for her near and dear ones only at her recently renovated Bandra residence. This Diwali party will also double up as a house warming party, as Arpita’s guest will get to see her abode post the renovation.
Meanwhile, yet another reason to have a low-key Diwali bash is Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan’s arrest in drugs on cruise case and Ananya Panday being questioned for the same. Aryan was granted bail on October, 28, Ananya was summoned by NCB too.
