FINALLY! Sanjay Dutt biopic starring Ranbir to roll in January

There has been much confusion about Rajkumar Hirani’s biopic on Sanjay Dutt going on floors. After all, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer has seen inordinate delays.
Now, SpotboyE.com has it from a source close to the project that the film will finally go on floors in January next year.
Hirani had approached Ranbir as early as November 2014 for the biopic. An excited Ranbir instantly gave his nod to the film. However, the script had to be rewritten several times and was finally shown to Sanju upon his release from prison in February this year.
With Sanju having given his go-ahead, the project was supposed to go on floors in June (Ranbir to start Dutt biopic in June,Dec 20). In fact, RK Jr was so keen on bringing Dutt’s character alive on screen that he even bowed out of the Kishore Kumar biopic.
However, Hirani’s film faced some hurdles and then was scheduled to roll in August – Ranbir even started beefing up for the role with Sanju himself giving him workout tips (Sanjay Dutt readies Ranbir Kapoor for his biopic, Mar 23). But that too did not happen.
And now, January 2017 it is! The film is expected to release during Christmas 2017.
