Deepika Padukone is busy shooting for Padmavati, her on and off stints in the West and brand promotions since the last few months. Yesterday, when she came out to meet the press at the launch of her look from L'Oréal Cannes, she got talking a lot.

From controversies revolving around her fashion and films to contemporaries like Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra, Deepika spoke about them all. Here are five of her comments from the event that you just can’t ignore:

As we know, Deepika was criticised for her look at the Met Gala 2017. She wore a satin slip dress by Tommy Hilfiger. When asked about her fashion statement, she replied, "I am not dressing for you my love, I am dressing for myself. So, as long as I am having fun nothing else matters."

2.      On Katrina Kaif appreciation her look in Raabta’s special number:

A few days back, Katrina Kaif during a facebook live chat complimented Deepika on her look in the Raabta title track. She had said, “Yay, I like her look”.  Acknowledging Katrina’s praise, Deepika said, "I think compliments are always great especially when it comes from your contemporaries, it is even better. Thank you for that. I have always appreciated and admired her in her life and career. I am sure it’s not been an easy journey and I have always appreciated and admired that.”

3.      One Being Confused As Priyanka Chopra By The Media In West:

Deepika got emotional when she spoke about the whole controversy, where a video went viral last month, which showed Hollywood fans and photographers calling her out as Priyanka Chopra. She said, "It's not just about me being offended. It's you all in this room who should be offended. It's not just ignorance, it's also racist. Two people of similar colour are not the same people. So, you as fellow Indians should actually be calling them out and educating them instead of encouraging it. Ignorance is ignorance. I feel bad for them."

4.      One the success of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion:

When asked about Baahubali 2 success, she was very proud of it. She said, "The possibilities are endless and limitless that’s the reason I do a film like xXx: Return Of Xander Cage and Priyanka Chopra does what she is doing (referring to Hollywood projects) as there is no limit to creativity. Whether it is us representing India globally or a Baahubali which is a regional film that is breaking barriers and crossing boundaries and become a success it shows the possibilities are endless.”

5.      On heading to Cannes 10 years after her Bollywood debut:

Finally addressing the controversy about why she is heading to Cannes Film Festival after 10 years of her making her debut, while many of her contemporaries made it years back, she said, "Considering this stint at the Cannes is happening ten years after my debut, it makes me feel like there is so much more to do, so much more to achieve and so much more can happen. Just when you think everything’s going great, something even greater happens. That’s what drives me. There is no end, you can keep challenging yourself. I look back and I don’t feel it’s been that long. It’s taken me a long time to get here. It takes immense mental peace to be in this space, that takes a lot of work and it takes being focused on the larger picture."
