Gadar 2 Will See Sunny Deol Going Back To Pakistan To Get Back His Son Utkarsh Sharma
As per reports director Anil Sharma has cracked the one-line idea for Gadar 2 sequel and will kickstart the movie after Apne 2 wraps up
In 2001, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar got the box office ringing, now as per reports in Pinkvilla, director Anil Sharma is said to be toying with the idea of a sequel for this blockbuster movie. The sequel as per reports will see Sunny’s onscreen character Tara Singh going back to Pakistan to get back his son, Charanjeet. The portal states, the filmmaker has arrived at a one-line idea, he will sit with his writers to flesh out the idea into a complete screenplay.
The source informs, “Gadar is a timeless love story that created history at the box office. 20 years later, Anil Sharma is now planning a sequel to Gadar with Sunny Deol and his son, Utkarsh Sharma. The filmmaker has cracked the one-line idea for the sequel, about Tara Singh returning to Pakistan to bring his son, Charanjeet Singh, back.” Anil Sharma’s son will be playing Sunny Deol’s on-screen son in the sequel. Like the 2001 film, the sequel will be also backed by Zee, also the banner is quite impressed with the idea of a sequel.
But Anil Sharma will only commence the shoot of Gadar 2 after he wraps up the sequel of Apne that marks the reunion of Dharmendra, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol onscreen along with Sunny’s son Karan Deol also joining them. The source adds Apne 2 is likely to go on floors in September and will be shot in Punjab and London. “It’s currently being fine-tuned and the idea is to take it on floors around September. They are planning to shoot the film in Punjab and London. Much like the first part, this one too is set against the backdrop of boxing,” said the source.
The director as well as the studio is carefully scripting the Gadar 2 as the thought of its sequel is challenging. Gadar had Sunny fighting against Pakistan to bring back his wife Sakeena played by Ameesha Patel. On the film completing 20 years, the filmmaker in conversation with Pinkvilla had said, “The entire world wants to see Tara Singh back and I would love to make 10 films on that character. But it’s difficult to make Gadar 2. One needs a bomb of emotion, drama and grandeur.
