This morning, Alia Bhatt surprised her fans when she announced the release date of her much-anticipated film Gangubai Kathiawadi. Helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Gangubai will hit the silver screens on July 30, this year. Even before fans could celebrate the joy, Alia dropped the official teaser of the film taking the internet by storm. Alia Bhatt’s first rushes as Gangubai in Gangubai Kathiawadi has become the talk of the town and centre of attraction for everyone, as B-Town showers heaps praises.

Bollywood celebs like Shahid Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, mother Soni Razdan, Dia Mirza, Varun Dhawan, Masaba Gupta, Anushka Ranjan, Akshay Kumar, Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, among many others have congratulated the actress and lauded her acting chops for carrying the character so gracefully. Shah Rukh Khan took to Twitter and said, "I always look forward to your work as an actor ‘little one’. And this one seems extremely special....and you....so Gangsta!!!  All my love and wishes for the film."

Akshay Kumar wrote, “#GangubaiKathiawadi...had found the title itself very intriguing from the day I’d heard it...the teaser only adds to it! @aliaa08 along with #SanjayLeelaBhansali sir bring their A-game again, so looking forward to it.”


Priyanka Chopra shared Alia’s teaser on her Twitter handle and wrote, “Alia!!!! I’m so proud of you my friend for stepping into complexity fearlessly. I hope you always keep shining.
