Now, with a Bollywood bigwig like Salman out of the picture, the team was on the hunt for a co-producer to be able to retain the vision of the project. Now, looks like their search has come to an end.

Buzz is that Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s daughter, Isha Ambani, might come on board as the co-producer. Yes, you read that right!

Says a source, “Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar and Isha Ambani met at Karan’s residence a few days ago and Isha liked the thought process behind the film.”

Adds a source, “Akshay, Karan and Reshma Shetty had a final meeting on August 29 at the superstar’s Juhu residence where they discussed the logistics of Battle Of Saragarhi. Things are looking good for the team. Isha’s addition to the project will be ideal.”

Our well-placed sources also tell us that post the meeting, Akshay had to head to Mehboob Studios for a shoot, however, the water logging resulted in his car breaking down. It is then that Karan Johar offered him a lift. Awww!

To talk of Battle Of Saragarhi, at the moment, Rajkumar Santoshi, Ajay Devgn and Karan-Akshay are making a film on the same subject.

The famous Battle of Saragarhi was fought on September 12, 1897, by 21 Sikhs of the 4th Battalion of the Sikh Regiment, who gave up their lives defending an army post, fighting against 10,000 Afghans. The battle occurred in the North-West Frontier Province and is now named the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and is part of Pakistan. The 21 Sikh contingent was led by Havildar Ishar Singh and they all fought to death.

Coming back to Isha Ambani, let’s wait and watch to see if an official announcement is soon made on the matter.
