But did you know that Varun was once threatened with a slap by Salman.

At a media interaction to promote Judwaa 2, Varun revealed that he had once dropped in on the sets of Judwaa, which was being directed by his father David Dhawan.

He struck up a conversation with the star but things went downhill, when Varun addressed Salman as, Uncle.

Well, Varun was 15 at that time and was a good two decades younger than Salman.

But Salman told Varun, “Run away or I will slap you for calling me uncle.”

Thankfully, young Varun got the message and started addressing him as Salman Bhai.

And thus began a friendship, which continues till date.

In fact, Varun idolises Salman and even admits that Khan’s films were an integral part of his early years.

So when comparisons, both favourable and otherwise, happened between Varun with Salman because he’s replaced him in Judwaa 2, the young actor remains unfazed.

“I am not thinking about that. When I do a film, I do it to entertain the audience that’s the only thought I have. Eventually people have to come to the theaters and get entertained,” said Varun.

Meanwhile, David maintained: “Salman is something else. No one can compare or match him. Not even Varun.”

Judwaa 2 starring Jacqueline Fernandez and Tapsee Pannu, will retain two songs from the original film- Unchi Hai Building, Duniya Main Aaye Ho Toh Love Karlo.
