We all remember Priyanka Chopra as the shrewd Sonia Roy in
Subhash Ghai’s Aitraaz. Now, 14 years later, it is said that the showman of
Bollywood has approached the actress to star in the sequel of the film. A
source close to Mumbai Mirror was quoted saying, “It’s a new story with a new
title. Subhash Ghai has already had a word with Priyanka Chopra and the two
have discussed the film. She loves the idea of a sequel to a film which won her
accolades for her performance in a negative role and is excited to feature in
the second instalment of the franchise. She is keen to collaborate with Ghai
again and has even told him that she will try working around her dates.”
The final meeting will take place once Priyanka comes back from New York after
wrapping up her Quantico 3 schedule.
According to the tabloid, Ghai has been working on the script of the sequel
since the last two years and hopefully, if all goes well, the shoot will begin
by the end of this year.
Few years back, it was being reported that Akshay and Priyanka were getting up
close and personal during the shoot of Aitraaz. Even though the rumours died
down soon, the duo never shared the screen space again. So, it is unlikely that
the two will come together for the sequel of Aitraaz.
We can’t wait to find out what the cast of the sequel would be.
