Hrithik Roshan’s Super 30 Arriving Early; Will Release Before Kangana Ranaut’s Mental Hai Kya
Amidst reports of Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 postponing its release date to avert clash with Kangana Ranaut’s Mental Hai Kya, the makers announce that their film is arriving early
When Ekta Kapoor announced that her film Mental Hai Kya starring Kangana Ranaut in the lead role has been postponed from June 21 to July 26, it became a huge topic of discussion because Hrithik Roshan starrer Super 30 was slated to release on the same date. Naturally, many started believing it was an on-purpose move but Ekta clarified that it was purely a business decision.
Next we saw Hrithik gracefully deciding to postpone his film’s release and even releasing a statement stating the same. While, reports were rife that Super 30 was postponed to August 9, the makers took us by surprise as they announced that the movie is arriving early, i.e. on July 12. Reliance Entertainment tweeted, "Arriving early! #Super30 will be releasing on July 12. @iHrithik @mrunal0801 @nandishsandhu @TheAmitSadh @teacheranand #SajidNadiadwala @NGEMovies @super30film @ZeeMusicCompany"
For those uninitiated, Ekta’s statement read, “A lot is being reported about Mental Hai Kya clashing with another film at the box office on July 26. The shift in the release date is a decision taken after the recommendations from the distributors, trade analysts and top research team, keeping in mind the releases a week before and after this date.
We have been advised to shift the release of our movie to July 26, purely for the business prospects. On knowing, that there is already a movie scheduled for a release on that date, we did it all in our purview to ensure that there will be no mud-slinging and it will be dignified release. We stand by assuring that to all other parties. This is a call taken by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures considering better prospects for the movie at the box office and no other parties were involved.”
On the other hand, Hrithik wrote, “So as to not allow my film to be desecrated by yet another media circus, I have decided to shift the release date of my film SUPER30 in order to save myself from the personal trauma and toxic mental violence this would cause. Despite the film being ready, I have requested my producers to shift and announce the next suitable date as soon as possible.”
When Kangana discovered that he has decided to shift the release date of Super 30, she in response said, "Hrithik Roshan, Madhu Mantena and Ekta Kapoor had collectively decided that Hrithik would push Super 30’s release date and Ekta will bring her film MHK on 26th July, they had taken this call last week itself, I don’t know why he wrote this sob story but I am glad MHK is getting a solo release, I salute my producer Ekta Kapoor for making her way in this male-dominated industry, it’s not easy to do what she does.... I applaud her courage and power."
