Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan and Hrithik Roshan have been roped in to share screen space in the Hindi remake of Tamil film titled Vikram Vedha. The makers made an official announcement on Saturday about the film’s release date. The original Tamil film was released in 2017. The neo-noir crime thriller starred South actors R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles. The Tamil film ‘Vikram Vedha’ was produced by Sashikanth of YNot Studios and it was directed by Pushkar and Gayathri.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, a source revealed that the makers have decided to release the Vikram Vedha remake in September, next year. The source said, “The makers have decided to release Vikram Vedha remake on September 30, 2022. The film goes on floors soon and the team of the film is confident that it'll be ready by then.” The source further added, “Also, it’s a great date since Gandhi Jayanti (October 2) and Dussehra (October 5) both fall in the release week. This would ensure healthy footfalls translating into superb box office numbers."
As per the report, the film is being remade in Hindi by filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, under the production banner Friday Filmworks in association with Reliance Entertainment and YNot Studios.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Saif Ali Khan has film Bhoot Police, Adipurush and other projects in the pipeline. On the personal front, Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s second son is named ‘Jeh’; nana Randhir Kapoor confirmed it. Talking about Hrithik, the actor has Siddharth Anand directed Fighter opposite Deepika Padukone. It was on Friday that Deepika and Hrithik met with filmmaker Siddharth Anand.
