Kajol Recalls Being Fat-Shamed And Mocked For Her Skin Tone; Says ‘I Was Told, I Am Dark And Fat’
Kajol in a new interview recalls how she was fat-shamed during the initial phase of her career!
Bollywood actress Kajol in a new interview has opened up about getting body-shamed during the initial phase of her career. She talked about how she was body mocked for her skin tone in the past. The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai actress even denied the reports of undergoing skin whitening surgery to enhance her beauty. Kajol also stated that despite the constant judgment of her looks, she kept continuing to be herself.
Speaking with Humans of Bombay, the Dilwale actress said, “She is dark, she is fat and she wears specs all the time. These were some of the judgments that were passed when I first started working in the industry. I couldn’t care less. I knew I was smart, cool, and better than everyone out there who had any negatives to say about me. So, I kept continuing to be myself and never let it show. Sooner or later, when they couldn’t pull me down, the world simply embraced me for who I was - Kajol.” ALSO READ: WHAT! When asked about the reports of undergoing skin whitening surgery, the actress explained she has not undergone any such treatment, she just stayed out of the sun. “For 10 years of my life, I was working all the time under the sun, which is why I got tanned! And now I am not working in the sun anymore. So I’ve got untanned! It’s not a skin whitening surgery, it’s a stay-at-home surgery,” Kajol further said.
Work-wise, Kajol is one of the most talented actresses in the industry with many hit films to her credit. She is widely known for her acting chops in moves such as Baazigar, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Fanaa, My Name Is Khan, and others. She was last seen in Revathy's film Salaam Venky with Vishal Jethwa.
