The farmers in India have been protesting against the Centre’s three farm laws since a few months now. The protests are being held at the borders of the national capital, and many Bollywood celebrities had earlier shown their support to the protesting farmers. A few international public figures such as Rihanna, Amanda Cerny and Greta Thunberg recently came out in support of the farmers. As international pop icon Rihanna supported the farmers’ protest in India, Kangana Ranaut lashed out at her, and called the nine-time Grammy Award-winning singer a ‘fool’ for the tweet.

On Tuesday, while reacting to an article about the suspension of Internet services around the farmers’ protest sites, Rihanna tweeted, “Why aren’t we talking about this?! #FarmersProtest.” Her tweet was hailed by many, however, Kangana reacted harshly to Rihanna’s tweet and lashed out at her for supporting the farmers’ protest in India. In her tweet, Kangana wrote that the demonstrators are trying to divide India.

Kangana’s tweet read, “No one is talking about it because they are not farmers they are terrorists who are trying to divide India, so that China can take over our vulnerable broken nation and make it a Chinese colony much like USA... Sit down you fool, we are not selling our nation like you dummies.”


 A Twitter user also dug out an old tweet of Kangana’s in which she seemed to be expressing her love for a song by Rihanna. Replying to this, Kangana wrote, “Oye tattu I took over my account in August last year before that it was a team fan page, mujhe na pop music samajh aata hai nahi main English gaane zyaada sunti hoon.
