Kangana Ranaut takes the full onus of Judgementall Hai Kya’s failure
Fearless and spontaneous, Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut makes yet another piping hot statement. Trying her hand at a dark comedy thriller with Judgementall Hai Kya being her last release at the box office, she was heard asserting it to be a hit if it didn’t star Kangana in it. Revealing furthermore she mentioned how the movie which is otherwise at the break-even point would have been a blockbuster exceeding the production budget. The Manikarnika actress spilled the bean during her conversation with Mid Day.

She was quoted saying, “If Judgementall Hai Kya was made without me on a budget of Rs 10 crore, it would have been a blockbuster at Rs 40 crore. However, because it was made at nearly Rs 30 crore, it just about broke even.” Unfortunately right from the movie’s announcement, it was mired with controversies. Beginning with the title, the movie was earlier titled as Mental Hai Kya which called for a lot of slamming for the makers, as it showed the mentally challenged people in a bad light.

As if this was not enough, Kangana’s spat with a journalist during the promotional event, further embroiled the movie in controversy. But all said and done, nothing can stop this diva from shinning like a star. Entering a new horizon by producing films, she revealed of taking baby steps with her production skills before she backs a mammoth big project in her career. The Panga actress also confirmed of majorly producing digital films instead of taking the conventional route.

She said, “I want to [back] a few small films and see how that goes. Eventually, I may do something on a bigger level.”

Her production venture will be called Manikarnika Films; possibly she will set up her office in Khar at the beginning of 2020.
