Filmmaker Karan Johar might have to wait for a little longer for the sequel of his successful venture 2008 Dostana, titled Dostana 2 to go on floors. The reason being that both his leads Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor are neck-deep in their ongoing projects. All thanks to their prior work commitments the duo will be able to make way for Dostana 2 only in October now. Apart from Kartik and Janhvi, KJo has finalised Fateh Randhawa as the third lead for the film. Fateh is yesteryear actress Farah (Tabu's sister) and Vindhu Dara Singh's son.
Kartik and Janhvi’s Dostana 2 will now go on floors in October 2019 as per news report in Pinkvilla. The makers are planning to complete the film in start to finish schedule. Thus, they are aiming to begin in October and wrap it by the month of December. That is two-three months schedules. Post January Kartik will start shooting for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, while Janhvi will start prepping for KJo’s Takht. Currently, Kartik is busy with Pati Patni Aur Woh starring Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Panday in Lucknow. Janhvi, on the other hand, is busy with Rooh-i-Afza and a biopic on IAF Gunjan Saxena title Kargil Girl.
Previously rumour had it that actor Rajkummar Rao was the third lead, however now the actor has cleared the air and confirmed that he was indeed approached but due to some issues he couldn't go ahead with Dostana 2.
Last evening, Kartik was seen celebrating his co-star Bhumi Pednekar’s birthday. The party also saw Ayushmann Khurrana having a blast who is in Lucknow too for his next Gulabo Sitabo.
