Karwa Chauth is a tradition where women fast to pray for the long life of their husbands. In the recent times, not only women, even the husbands have started keeping a fast in order to support their wives. Our favourite celebs celebrated the festival of Karwa Chauth with much fanfare. While some organised parties at their residences there were many others who kept it to their families. Here are pictures of how the stars celebrated the festival: 

Anushka captioned the pic, "My moon , my sun , my star , my everything. Happy karva chauth to all (sic)." Virat Kohli too posted a picture with his loving wife and wrote, "My life. My universe. Karvachauth  (sic)."


Divyanka wished her fans a very Happy Karwa Chauth and wrote, “Candle lit #Karwachauth." Husband Vivek Dahiya said, “A very special date night. Underneath the sky full of stars and our chief guest, “The Moon” who took his sweet time to arrive but then it was worth the wait. Had mine right besides me! #KarwaChauthSpecial.”




Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra celebrated Karwa Chauth in Sri Lanka this time around. The actress posted adorable pictures and said, "Had to put this picture out.. just notice the light in the shadow of the sieve looking like the moon  considering we couldn’t see the moon in Srilanka till 9.30 pm so WE broke our fast ( yes he fasts too) with a pic of the moon seen in Mumbai sent by a friend . My Cookie @rajkundra9 you are my sun,my moon and my universe.. Thankyou for travelling with me Tum aye toh aya mujhe yaad gali mein aaj Chaand nikla .Happy Karva chauth instafam.. #karvachauth #moon #srilankadiaries #hubbylove #love #life (sic)."


Raj captioned his post, "My life My Girlfriend happy #karvachauth I pray and fast for your long life and well being as you do for mine. That’s what life partners do #Love #Life #Happiness (sic)."


Sonam Kapoor did not fast but shared a post with Anand Ahuja that said, "I hope to live my best life with you always my love.. and to being the most progressive, compassionate and gentle man I know. Happy KC and thank you for bullying me into not keeping it in the most hilarious way possible. @anandahuja #everydayphenomenal (sic)." 


Ayushmann Khurrana fasted for his wife Tahira Kashyap who was recently diagnosed with Stage Zero Breast Cancer. He wrote, "Fasting for you is fun. #KarvaChauth (sic)."

Raveena took to social media to post pictures from her festivities and said, "Happy #karwachauth2018 everyone �🏻bless you all and your families ♥️♥️ (sic)." 


She further wrote with pics of her and hubby Anil Thadani, "Always together forever ♥️ #karhwachauth wishes and prayers ♥️�🏻🕉�🏻 (sic)."


Sharing another picture of the decor for the festivities, she wrote, "How beautifully festive this looks . The #diyas #PoojaThal #karhwachauth (sic)."

Abhishek Bachchan wished good luck to the women who were keeping and fast and also said that men should as well follow the custom as he too does it. He wrote, "#KarvaChauth, good luck ladies. And the dutiful husbands who should also be fasting with their wives! I do (sic)."

Priyanka Chopra, who will soon be getting hitched to Nick Jonas, took to social media to write, "Happy Karvachauth to everyone celebrating.. may the moon today be the promise of a lifetime of togetherness (sic)."

Bipasha Basu shared throwback pictures from her first Karwa Chauth and wrote, "Our first Karva Chauth pictures post our wedding #throwback We both pray for the safety and longevity of each other and for the love that all couples share for each other� Get well sooner than soon my Superman @iamksgofficial �🏼 Happy #karvachauth https://mail.google.com/mail/e/2764️� (sic)."


 Gautam Rode and Pankhuri Awasthy celebrated their first Karwa Chauth after their wedding. Gautam wrote, "Happy KarvaChauth to everyone! � (sic)." Pankhuri captioned the pic as, "Happy KarvaChauth everyone (sic)."


Arjun Bijlani and his wife Neha Swami also took to social media to share pics. Arjun captioned the pics as, "Happy #karvachauth to all u ladies who r fasting today but most importantly to you @nehaswami .jug jug jio(sic)." Neha wrote along with the pics, "Happy Karwachauth my dear husband @arjunbijlani (sic)." She went on to post another pic with the caption, "Happy Karwachauth to all the beautiful ladies..�� (sic)."
