Kumar Sanu Opens Up On Not Receiving National Awards Despite Big Achievements; Blames Scheming And Manipulation-REPORT

The singer has garnered a massive fan base, thanking his melodious voice and singing. The singer has been honoured with record-breaking five Filmfare awards, and a Padma Shri in 2009. Now, in an interview, Padma Shri awardee Kumar Sanu opened up about not receiving a single National Award over the years, even after his big achievements.
Speaking with NavbharatTimes.com, the singer blamed it all on scheming and manipulation. Talking about him not receiving a National Award yet, Kumar Sanu said that he has not received it because the award does not think he deserves it. He added that according to him, he should have received the National Award for 7 consecutive years. The singer said that he should have received the National Award from 1990 to 1996 for seven consecutive years. He mentioned that in all those years, his songs were the most popular and hit songs.
Kumar Sanu continued that in the present time, he will never get a national award. The singer said that he should have been awarded the National Awards at the right time. And, according to Sanu, that time has now passed. He also mentioned that when he did not receive the national award from the year 1990 to 1996, he left all hope. The singer also expressed that it is a different feeling to be awarded the national award.
Meanwhile, when Kumar Sanu was asked if he feels there’s a lot of politics in the National award, he said, “When there is a conversation about the National Award, then I feel that something happens inside, due to which there is no award for the one with more achievement, who has less achievement, he gets the National Award.” The singer concluded saying that he feels that there is some ‘jhol’ or ‘locha’ when it comes to selecting the right candidate for the National award. Kumar Sanu also mentioned that he is satisfied that he has a huge fan following, and he is fine if he does not get the National Award now.
