Lalbaugcha Raja 2020: Dia Mirza, Vikrant Massey And Others React To The News Of The Celebrations Getting Cancelled Due To Coronavirus
With the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, several events have been cancelled this year, be it a personal event or a public event. Earlier, big events like Olympics 2020, Met Gala, Cannes Film Festival, IPL - Indian Premier League and many more have been postponed indefinitely. However, much to everyone's dismay, Lalbaugcha Raja will be missed this year. According to various reports, the organisers of the Ganpati celebrations at Lalbaug have decided to cancel the event owing to the COVID-19pandemic. This is the first in Lalbaugcha Raja's 87-year history that the celebrations will not be held on the scheduled date. With this news, Bollywood and TV stars Dia Mirza, Vikrant Massey and Nakuul Mehta have reacted to this news on their social media handles.

While sharing her views, Dia wrote, "Times are compelling big changes. It would also be a giant win to make #LalbaugchaRaja eco friendly. Many good people have requested the committee over the years. Do you think they will consider making the largest Ganpati Bappa - Earth Friendly? May be now they’ll change?" On the other hand, Chhapaak actor was elated with this decision as he wrote, "Thank you to the Trust & Committee of #LalbaugchaRaja for rising to the occasion & probably setting a precedent for other institutions to follow suit in these trying times. I bow my head in reverence to the Mighty Ganpati Bappa for mercy & peace!"

Even Ishaqbaaz actor was delighted to know about this decision, "Beautifully put!  Also wonderful gesture by the trust behind this LR! Have never been to Lalbaugcha Raja but i feel almost indebted to go visit 'him' once the world heals."

In the recent interview with ET, Karan Wahi was quoted saying, “I think saving lives and keeping people safe is the highest priority and I am glad it’s come from the biggest Ganesh Chaturthi mandal in the city. I hope people understand the need of the hour and act wisely like they have."
