Vijay Deverakonda gets back in the ring; the actor resumes the shoot of his much-awaited film Liger. Announcing the same, the Arjun Reddy actor shared a picture of his chiseled body from a caged MMA ring, while showing off a tattoo. The actor is also seen sporting a complete new cornrows hairdo along with a ponytail. Ever since the conception of the film, fans of the actor are eagerly waiting to watch the film which also stars Ananya Panday. The film directed by Puri Jagannath marks Vijay's Bollywood debut. Also, it is being produced jointly by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
Vijay Deverakonda is expected to have a pan-India release worldwide in five languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Sharing a photo of him from the sets, Vijay wrote, "BLOOD. SWEAT. VIOLENCE. #LIGER Shoot Resumes." Liger will see Vijay playing the role of MMA fighter. The film also features Ramya Krishnan, Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, among others.
Liger was earlier scheduled for a theatrical release on September 9. However, due to the pandemic, the film's release had to be pushed. They also had to postpone the teaser release which was supposed to come out on Vijay's birthday. But keeping in mind the Coronavirus situation in India, Karan Johar's Dharma Productions has decided to not release the teaser.
Vijay will be seen in a never-before avatar as per reports. Currently, the makers are wrapping up the intense action stretches in mixed martial arts (MMA) format involving Vijay Deverakonda and other foreign fighters.
