Lisa Ray's Adorable Twin Girls Sufi & Soleil's Picture Is All Sorts Of Cute

Yesterday, we all woke up to the happy news of actress Lisa Ray being blessed with two daughters via surrogacy. And now, the model-turned-actress took to social media to share a picture of her angels whom she has named, Sufi & Soleil, and they are too-cute-to-handle in matching flower head bands.

Alongside the picture Lisa wrote an excerpt from her interview in Bazaar India. “We have paid extra for a room with an atrium in the Chachava clinic. The room crackles with keyed up expectancy. There’s a flat screen tv playing the world cup in a corner when my husband- who I nominated to be in the operating theatre for the birth- bursts in, flushed; ‘Girls! We have two baby girls!’ My mother in law, also flushed but with barely disguised exasperation, drops her knitting ‘Now will you tell me their names?’ she holds up a blank square of the blanket she has been working on, ‘I need initials.’ On cue, my mind fogs up. Names? I didn’t even know the gender of our babies until now. It was all so dreamlike, this period of gestation; while my girls grew in another woman’s womb, they slowly grew in my mind. I don’t have names because I never thought I’d have kids. Particularly now, at the biologically geriatric age of 46.’ - excerpt from my piece for @bazaarindia about the overwhelming yet delicate experience of motherhood through surrogacy”

While talking to Bombay Times, Lisa Ray shared details her journey to motherhood. She said, “It has been an arduous and interesting experience. Having been diagnosed with multiple myeloma (a form of blood cancer) in 2009, which requires me to be on a lifelong dose of medication, pre-empted the possibility for me to carry children myself. Fortunately, technology has progressed where there are choices and new possibilities for having children. My husband and I decided to pursue surrogacy. India was the obvious choice.”
