Union Minister Smriti Irani had a good laugh on Republic TV Head Arnab Goswami’s slip of tongue moment when he addressed Sunny Deol as Sunny Leone during the Lok Sabha election results' discussion
The Lok Sabha Election 2019 results saw BJP winning against Congress by a huge margin. Union Minister Smriti Irani defeated Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in his Amethi bastion and since then, the lady has been on cloud nine. When she sat for an interaction with Republic TV Head Arnab Goswami, she didn’t skip the chance of poking fun of his mix-up between Sunny Deol and Sunny Leone.
It so happened that during Election results discussion, the Editor-in-Chief referred to Sunny Deol as Sunny Leone mistakenly as he said, “Sunny Leone… sorry Sunny Deol is leading from Gurdaspur”. Naturally, that left everyone in splits including the sexy diva who even tweeted, “Leading by how many votes???” with smileys. In no time, memes started floating around on web.

So when, Smriti sat for a discussion with Goswami, she too in jest, said, ‘ Aap Sunny Deol ko Sunny Leone bulate hain. Main chahe kitna bhi cut-off hu lekin Internet par Arnab Goswami ne ek galti ki, toh dekhiye aapne dhamaaka kar diya poore desh mein.”
Meanwhile, in April, Navjot Singh Sidhu had vowed to quit politics if Smriti wins against the Congress chief. When Smriti emerged victorious, Twitteratti started reminding Sidhu of his words and #SidhuQuitPolitics started trending on social media. So far, 4 resignations have arrived on Rahul’s table. According to ANI, HK Patil has quit. Odisha Congress Chief Niranjan Patnaik had earlier resigned. Now we hear, Uttar Pradesh Chief Raj Babbar has followed suit. The district unit president of the Congress, Yogendra Misra, has also resigned, taking moral responsibility for Rahul's defeat.
