Madhu Mantena And Masaba Gupta File For Divorce; Couple Confirms, "We Have Decided To Move Forward Separately"
It was in the month of August last year that Madhu Mantena and Masaba Gupta decided to end their 3-year marriage. Masaba went on to announce their separation on social media: “With a lot of sadness, Madhu and I have today decided to go on a trial separation in our marriage. We are not strong enough to explain ourselves to even friends who deserve answers from us. All we can say to each of them is give us time and gives us love when we reach out to you.” And, the industry was taken by surprise.

Now, the couple has filed for divorce at the Bandra Family Court. When contacted, Madhu Mantena confirmed that the divorce has been filed and promptly sent us a joint statement, which reads: “After much thought and consideration, we have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. We have decided to move forward separately and get divorced. We are two individuals who respect and care for each other and have made our own choices. We would appreciate if we are given our privacy in this time.”

Madhu and Masaba got married in June 2015. Their wedding was a big lavish affair attended by several celebrities. After a dreamy wedding, Masaba moved into the same house that Nandana Sen (Madhu’s ex-girlfriend) had vacated. Neitrher of the two wanted to dwell on the reasons of their incompatibility.  We had then tried to strike up a chat with Masaba's mother, Neena Gupta, and she had only said, “They (Masaba and Madhu) said, we are adults, let's work it out at our won, you stay out of this, so I am staying out.”

The divorce has been filed by mutual consent. Masaba has not demanded any alimony. The first hearing of their divorce application was held yesterday. Six months from today, the two will cease to be man and wife.
