Madhur Bhandarkar Visits Dilip Kumar In Hospital; Says ‘Sairaji Was Very Gracious To Give Me Time; I Hope He Returns Home Soon’
On June 6, veteran actor Dilip Kumar was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai after complaining of breathing issues. This left his fans concerned, and since then, fans have been wishing and praying for his speedy recovery. ETimes reported that Dilip Kumar was diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion, and that he had been put on oxygen support. A few days ago, Dilip Kumar’s wife Saira Banu assured fans that the veteran actor is doing better. Two days ago, filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar visited Dilip Kumar in the hospital.

On returning from the hospital, Madhur Bhandarkar spoke about Dilip Kumar’s health and assured that he is stable and recovering. Now, while speaking to ETimes, Madhur Bhandarkar said that he was very happy to find out that Dilip Kumar was stable. He also said that Saira Banu was very gracious to give him time. “I was happy when I learned there that he was stable. I felt I must go and so I did. Sairaji asked that we should pray for her husband's recovery,” he said.

Madhur Bhandarkar shared that he has met Dilip Kumar only once before this, and it was at an event, during which they had spoken to each other. “I hope he returns fine, soon,” said Madhur Bhandarkar. He also expressed that he is a great admirer of Dilip Kumar, and has always wanted to work with him.


Meanwhile, yesterday, Dilip Kumar underwent a successful pleural aspiration procedure. This health update was shared by Faisal Farooqui in a tweet. “Thank you for your prayers. A successful pleural aspiration procedure was performed on Dilip Saab. I personally spoke to Dr. Jalil Parkar and Dr. Nitin Gokhale. They are optimistic that he will be discharged tomm (Thursday),” he wrote.
