Famous writer-director, Kundan Shah, who worked on successful and unforgettable projects like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Kya Kehna is no more with us. He passed away this morning at 5 as he suffered a cardiac arrest.

The renowned writer had a peaceful death in his sleep. Kundan Shah was 70.

No sooner, the fraternity got to know about Kundan Shah’s death, celebrities started posting condolence messages on Twitter.

Hansal Mehta tweeted, “Jaane bhi do yaaron... RIP Kundan Shah. 🙏🏻 Sad news. (sic).”

Milap Zaveri too paid a tribute to Kundan Shah via a tweet. “RIP Kundan Shah. #JaaneBhiDoYaaron was a classic. #KabhiHaanKabhiNaa is one of my fav films ever. May u Keep the heavens entertained,” he wrote.

Trade expert, Ashoke Pandit tweeted, “Sad to know about the demise of one of our finest directors #KundanShah. Will miss you Sir! #JaaneBhiDoYaaron.”

Vikram Bhatt also paid his tributes to Kundan Shah.

Subhash Ghai tweeted, “Good bye #kundan shah. We all @FTIIOfficial @Whistling_Woods shall remember u for your great films with us n in history indian cinema.”

Farhan Akhtar tweeted, “Saddened to learn that Kundan Shah is no more. Will never forget his genuineness, his cinematic knowledge & his unique sense of humour. RIP.”

Judwaa 2 actor Varun Dhawan also tweeted about the demise of the writer-director.

Riteish Deshmukh sent his condolences to the family of Kundan Shah.

Along with films, Kundan Shah also directed the popular Doordarshan comedy series Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi and Nukkad. In November 2015, Shah along with 23 other directors announced they were returning their National Awards to the central government as part of a protest against growing intolerance in the country.
