Meera Chopra Issues A Statement Denying Allegations Of Fraudulent Vaccination Using Fake ID
Recently, reports started doing rounds on the internet that actress Meera Chopra has faked an ID certificate to get vaccination fraudulently, posing as a frontline worker, in Thane where vaccination for 18-45 age group had been temporarily put on hold. The reports started when an identification certificate emerged online that showed Meera posing as a frontline worker.

After getting her jab, Meera had shared a picture of her getting vaccinated at a Thane center on Instagram. A few hours after that, politician Niranjan Davkhare shared a picture of the fake identification card, along with Meera’s vaccination pic and wrote in a tweet that the matter should be investigated.

Since then, Meera has deleted the post about her vaccination from her social media handles and has issued a statement regarding the same. “We all want to get vaccinated and we all are trying our best to do that. Similarly, I also tried trying asking help from people I know and after 1 month of trying I was able to get myself registered in one of the centres. I was just asked to send in my Aadhaar card. The ID that has been flouting on social media is not mine. I was asked for my Aadhaar card for registration and that’s the only ID I gave. No ID is valid until it has your signature. I myself, saw that so called ID card for the first time, when it came on Twitter. I totally condemn such practices and if any such ID has been made, I would want to know how and why,” the statement read.

Meera is the cousin of actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas and predominantly works in the Tamil and Telugu cinema. She was last seen in the Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chadha-starrer Section 375.
