Mirzya Girl Saiyami Kher’s Obsession With Sachin Tendulkar

In her Bollywood debut Mirzya, Saiyami Kher plays a girl who will go to any extent to be with the love of her life (played by Harshvardhan Kapoor). Guess what, she’s just as obsessed with someone in real life, too -- cricketer Sachin Tendulkar!

So ‘clean-bowled’ is Saiyami is that she never allows ANYTHING to come between her and Sachin -- not even her prestigious debut project Mirzya, which is being helmed by widely-acclaimed filmmaker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. You think we are exaggerating? No way.

This story took place in November 2013, when Sachin Tendulkar was playing the last and 200th Test match of his career at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, against West Indies. Back then, Mehra had already finalised Saiyami and preparations were on in full swing, though the media was still busy speculating about who Mirzya’s heroine would be.

Though utterly devoted to Mirzya, Saiyami’s heart skipped a beat when she heard about Sachin’s final Test match kicking off on
November 14. Come hell or high water, she had to be there, she decided.

Wasting no time, she requested her director to grant her a 5-day chutti starting
November 14, and a thoroughly amused Mehra agreed instantly.

What Saiyami did next will even surprise Sachin’s most die-hard fans: She went and bought herself tickets in EVERY stand of the stadium -- Sunil Gavaskar Stand, North Stand, Vijay Merchant Stand, Sachin Tendulkar Stand, MCA Stand, Vitthal Divecha Stand, Garware Stand and Grand Stand. And every couple of hours, she’d keep changing seats in order to enjoy the best view of the Master Blaster!!

That’s not all, she even pulled some strings and managed to secure a seat that gave her the best possible view during Sachin’s historical and emotional farewell speech. From what we hear, she was sitting quite close to where the cricketer’s family was!

Saiyami’s only disappointment is that the  match got over
within 3 days instead of 5. Confirming the story to SpotboyE.com, the actress, who is also a state-level cricketer, said, “It’s true, I ensured that I had the best possible view of that match. I would have done anything for Sachin, my life revolves around him. The day he retired, something changed inside me, cricket will never be the same for me ever again.”
