We also spoke to Subodh Maskara at that time to confirm the news, but he denied any complications in his marriage and had said, “Nandita and I are still living together in the same house (near Haji Ali). In fact, we were planning to go to France on a holiday with our son. Unfortunately, my father passed away 3 days ago. Which marriage doesn’t have its share of fights?”

However, 6 months later, his wife and talented actress Nandita Das has confirmed the spilt. The couple has a 6-year-old son, Vihaan. Nandita, in a statement to a leading daily, said, "Yes, it is true. Subodh and I have decided to separate. Thankfully, it is very amicable. Our son is our foremost priority and as parents of a delightful and sensitive child we request that his and our privacy be respected. There’s nothing to hide and there’s nothing more to be said."

Nandita and Subodh have decided to ensure the well-being of their six-year-old son Vihaan. She added, "Separation is never easy, more so if you have a child. For us, our son is our main concern and we are committed to ensuring his well-being".

2016 witnessed a lot of break-ups and a lot of couples ending their marriages. While Farhan Akhtar ended his 15-year old marriage to Adhuna Bhabani, Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora's split too came as a shocker.
