Naseeruddin Shah Remembers Late Dilip Kumar; Shares Saira Banu Visited Him In Hospital And Said ‘Sahab Was Asking About You’
While remembering late Dilip Kumar, Naseeruddin Shah revealed that Saira Banu had visited him in the hospital and told him that ‘Sahab’ was asking about him
Actor Naseeruddin Shah was hospitalised on June 29 after suffering from pneumonia. It was then reported that a patch was found in his lungs. Coincidentally, Shah was discharged from the hospital on June 7, the same day legendary actor Dilip Kumar passed away at the Hinduja Hospital. While remembering late Dilip Kumar, Naseeruddin revealed that Dilip’s wife Saira Banu had visited him in the hospital and told him that 'sahab' was asking about him. Upon hearing this, he was completely moved but was heartbroken to hear that Sahab departed the same day when he got discharged.
Recalling the day when Saira paid him a visit, Shah was quoted saying by The Quint, “(Saira) put her hand on my head and blessed me and said — Sahab was asking about you. I was deeply moved. I wanted to meet him before I left. But unfortunately, the day I left, he also left.” Shah’s son Vivaan Shah informed the fans about his health on Instagram. The Happy New Year actor shared two photos of Naseeruddin and captioned as, “Back home.” Another picture has “He just got discharged today morning” written on it.
Dilip Kumar breathed his last on June 7. His trusted aide Faasil Farooqui shared his demise news on the actor’s Twitter handle. “With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return. - Faisal Farooqui” the official statement read.
Several stars from the film industry including Shah Rukh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar, Anupam Kher, and Subhash Ghai among others paid their last respects to the legendary actor.
