Nusrat Jahan Dodges Question On Her Child’s Father; Says, ‘It Puts A Black Spot On Somebody’s Character, The Father Knows Who The Father Is’

Actor-politician Nusrat Jahan welcomed her first child, a baby boy last month. On Wednesday, the Bengali actress made her first public appearance after embracing motherhood. Nusrat, who has resumed work after delivery, was spotted at an event where she dodged a question about her child’s father. Nusrat gave a sharp response, saying that the “father knows who the father is.” The actress also spoke about embracing motherhood and stated that it feels like a “new beginning.”

At the event, Nusrat, when asked about her ‘better half', said, “I think that’s a vague question to ask and puts a black spot on somebody’s character as a woman, who the father is. The father knows who the father is and we are having a great parenthood together at the moment. Myself and Yash, we are having a good time.”

She added the motherhood phase feels great. “It’s a new life, it feels like a new beginning,” the actress stated. The proud mommy also revealed that her son was named Yishaan.


On August 25, Nusrat Jahan was admitted to Neotia Hospital in Kolkata. Her rumoured boyfriend and actor-politician Bengali actor Yash Dasgupta drove Nusrat to the hospital. He also confirmed that Nusrat and her baby were doing well.

“For those who have been enquiring about Nusrat's health, the mother and child are healthy and doing well,” he was quoted as saying.

For the uninitiated, Nusrat Jahan got married to Nikhil Jain in a private wedding ceremony in Turkey on June 19, 2019. Earlier in 2021, in a statement, she however stated that her wedding with Nikhil was not valid under Indian laws. Nusrat and Nikhil have been separated since November 2020.
