Aishwarya Rai Bachchan charged a whopping Rs 10 crore for the first part of Ponniyin Selvan
After the stupendous success of Ponniyin Selvan, the makers are back with its second season which will hit the theatres in April. The sequel will star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, and Jayam Ravi among others. As per the reports, the actress charged a whopping amount for Ponniyin Selvan 2. She took Rs 10 crore to play the role of Nandini for the first part. Yes, you read that right! Aish took this hefty amount for Ponniyin Selvan 1.
As per a report in Bollywoodlife, Chiyaan Vikram, who played Aditha Karikalan in part one, was the highest-paid actor in the film. He took Rs 12 crore. On the other hand, Jayam Ravi took the fee of Rs 8 crore for this period drama. Trisha Krishnan, who essayed the role of Kundavai, was charged Rs 2.5 crore to play the princess in the film. Karthi aka Chief Commander of Chola army Vanthiyathevan, took an amount of Rs 5 crore for Ponniyin Selvan. Last but not the least, Sobhita Dhulipala, who essayed the role of Vaanathi, was paid Rs 1 crore. She will also be part of its sequel. Meanwhile, the trailer of Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan 2 has been released on social media. the trailer was held at a glittering function where Aishwarya, Trisha, and Sobhita among other cast members graced the event. The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress made heads turn in a pink ensemble on the red carpet.
The movie, which is said to be based on the novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy, will hit the theatres on April 28, 2023.
