No romantic posts, no lovey-dovey messages on social media. Akshay and Twinkle is one such Bollywood couple who follows the unconventional path to romance. And they proved this true one more time!
It’s been 16 years since Akshay and Twinkle got married. As they celebrate their 16th wedding anniversary today, Twinkle couldn’t help but get witty as she shared a humorous post, in a typical Twinkle style!
Last year also, Twinkle took to Twitter to share some “lame jokes” while talking about what she got as an anniversary gift from Akshay. She had written, “Your husband gave you anything in your anniversary? Yes! He gave me a blank look #Lamejokes.”
In another tweet, she wrote: “Your husband gave you anything for your anniversary? Yes! He gave me a headache. #Lamejokes.”
Akshay Kumar who first met Twinkle Khanna during a shoot for a magazine, in Mumbai, developed an instant liking towards her. However, it was actually during the shooting of their film, International Khiladi, when the two fell in love.
Akshay and Twinkle have always been pretty candid about their relationship. Once when Akshay was asked about that one decision which changed his life, he had said, “The one idea that changed my life was the day I decided to get married to my wife.’’
In one of his interviews with a leading magazine, he was all praises for his wifey dear, “Twinkle has not only added to my wardrobe but also to my bank balance. I was a scattered person; she is the one who has put me together. After marriage, she has kind of raised me (Laughs). On a serious note, whenever I’ve broken down she’s given me emotional support.”
The couple, who got married in 2001, are blessed with two children — son Aarav and daughter Nitara.
