Preity Zinta To Play Ranjeeta's Role In Satte Pe Satta Remake?- EXCLUSIVE
If all goes well, Preity Zinta will play Rajeeta's role in Farah Khan's Satte Pe Satta remake, produced by Rohit Shetty
It just might happen because that's the name in (director) Farah Khan's mind who is putting the Satte Pe Satta remake together with (producer) Rohit Shetty. Preity knows about it and she is quite excited about the offer, it remains to be seen whether she eventually signs on the dotted line or not.
Satte Pe Satta is a 1982 blockbuster, which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Amjad Khan, Ranjeeta Kaur, Sachin, Shakti Kapoor, Paintal, Sudhir, Inderjeet, Sarika, Kanwaljit Singh, Prema Narayan, Mac Mohan and Kalpana Iyer amongst others. The film was an adaptation of the American musical film Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and was remade in also Kannada as Jaggu and in Marathi as Amhi Satpute.
While there's no official announcement as yet on who will play Bachchan's role, there's a strong buzz that Hrithik Roshan has been finalised. We hear, the modalities are fast being worked out. There are loose rumours that Deepika Padukone might get into Hema Malini's role.
Ranjeeta who played Seema Singh strapped on a wheelchair- that scene where a big boulder is hurled at her, that scene where Amitabh Bachchan shows her the knife in the end- oh, that all still gives us goosebumps. Go for it, Zinta. It's a fab role and you should just dive into it.
