Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who stars in recently released Netflix film The White Tiger is busy with her work commitments and the promotions of the film. The actress is constantly sharing pictures, giving fans and followers a glimpse of her busy schedule. Priyanka recently made an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last week to promote her film, The White Tiger. During the interview, Priyanka was asked for her views on Kamala Harris becoming the “first female, first South Asian and first African American" vice president of the United States.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas answered mentioning that it was an emotional moment for a lot of her friends and family. The actress then continued to talk about how several countries across the world, including India, have seen many women in a position of power, over the years. She said, “Coming from a country like India, which has seen several women in governance from prime ministers to presidents, you know, welcome to the club America is what I'll say." The actress added, “High time," expressing how she would love to see many women in governance in the coming years.
Priyanka received applause for her remark from Tara Sharma. Tara reacted to the actor’s answer and called it a ‘good one’. She tagged Priyanka and added, “While of course #KamalaHarris @VP is fab & we are all thrilled she's #VP ..women in governance are not new to India & while we desperately need more gender equality in many areas it is nice to acknowledge areas where it is intrinsic.” Take a look at the tweet below:
