Hindi film industry's veteran actress Shashikala passed away yesterday at the age of 88, the news of her sad demise, got the celebs from the film fraternity mourning her death and paying their last tribute to the actress in their social media posts. Global icon Priyanka Chopra took to her INSTA Stories, sharing a throwback picture of the late actress and she penned a note. The note spoke about the senior actress’ work on the celluloid. PeeCee was also one of the lucky actresses to have worked with her.
PeeCee worked with the late actress in the 2004 movie Mujhse Shaadi Karogi starring Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, where the late actress played Salman's onscreen grandmother. Though seen on screen for a short span of time in the movie, her presence can be forgotten. PeeCee shared a black white picture of the late actress and wrote in her INSTA Stories, “An actor par excellence, one of the greats of the golden era... she leaves behind an indelible mark on cinema. Honoured to have had the opportunity to work with her.” She also wrote, “OM SHANTI #SHASHIKALA JI”

The late actress, who was seen in more than 100 films in her acting career, breathed her last at her Mumbai residence as per reports in the media. On the work front, PeeCee was last seen in The White Tiger released on Netflix, followed by which she will be seen in international projects such as Matrix 4, Text For You and Russo Brothers’ web series Citadel.
