Ranbir Furious About Tamasha Being Projected As A Hit
Just before he flew off to London to shoot for Karan Johar's Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Ranbir Kapoor had a heated debate with the producers of his recent release Tamasha.

The Imtiaz Ali-directed film has barely grossed Rs 65 crore (a fraction of its landing cost) on date- but Siddharth Roy Kapur (Disney UTV) and Sajid Nadiadwala seem hell bent on positioning it as a 'success.' This, we hear, has left Ranbir mighty miffed.

A highly-placed source has revealed to SpotboyE that Ranbir questioned the producers, arguing that the film itself is about dropping masks while here they're ironically manipulating people by wearing a facade of success.

Added the source, "Ranbir didn't want to attend the 'success' party either, but came only on Imtiaz's insistence."

Confirming the same, a close friend of the actor told us, "When Bombay Velvet flopped, whether it was Ranbir/ Fox Star Studios (producer)/ Anurag Kashyap (director)- they all admitted that it had bombed. Ranbir is the kind of the guy who doesn't like to pretend that something has been a firecracker when it has actually been a damp squib."

Added the friend, "Ranbir knows that Tamasha has clicked with only a certain section of the audience and his argument is strictly from the business point of view. He has also told Disney UTV and Sajid not to send out any more ads claiming that the film has done well. He even left to shoot for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil a day in advance, only to be as much away as possible from the 'drama' surrounding the film back in Mumbai post its release."
