Ranveer-Deepika Starrer Padmavati To Be Funded By 2 Studios -- Eros & Viacom ?

SpotboyE.com has it that the first mega-budget film to face the impact of the current scenario is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. Starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, this historical romance is estimated to cost at least Rs 150 crore. Given Bhansali’s love for great visuals and penchant for perfection, there’s going to be no compromise on the sets, costumes, etc. Not that much can be compromised when dealing with film like Padmavati. 
With no studio willing to put many eggs in one basket (and Rs150 crore is too many eggs in today's times), SLB has been struggling to get financial backing for his ambitious project. Now finally, there seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel.
Buzz is, Eros International and Viacom 18 are planning to jointly produce Padmavati. While Eros had produced SLB’s Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Ram-Leela (2013), the filmmaker had co-produced Mary Kom (2014) with Viacom.
The studios have absolute faith in Bhansali and his vision and are sure that it’s going to be a win-win situation for all if they collaborate. As matters stand today, Bhansali is in advanced talks with both the parties. The studios are also communicating with each other to finalise the nitty-gritties.
This is how the stage is being set for one of the most expensive and expansive projects in the history of Indian cinema. Is it a sign of things to come.
Anyway, let's see if the bhagyadari indeed happens.
