From pulling out the ultimate casting coup to prepping the actors, Kabir Khan is ensuring that everything is in place for his upcoming film, ’83 which will recreate the 1983 World Cup magic on celluloid. When the first look of Ranveer Singh as Kapil Dev was released, the audiences were not only left stunned but were sure that film is going to be a mind-blowing one as it stars Ranveer and Deepika Padukone in the leads. A few weeks ago, the cast and the crew of the film jetted off to London to shoot the climax of the film. However, while filming a particular scene, Singh broke down in tears.
According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Kabir Khan revealed that while filming the final sequence which is the victory scene, Ranveer was actually given the real World Cup trophy which was won by the legendary cricketer himself, Kapil Dev, instead of a replica. An emotional Ranveer broke down the moment Kabir Khan called ‘cut.’ That day, Clive Lloyd, captain of the '83 West Indian team which had crashed to 140 all out to give us an unlikely win, was also there and he told the filmmaker that he couldn't watch the coveted trophy being given away for the second time in his life. Well, this is only raising our anticipation level.
