You know that Rohit Shetty's dream of remaking Ram Lakhan went up in smoke when Ranveer Singh (Ranveer Singh not interested to play Lakhan, Jan 14) and Varun Dhawan (Now, Varun Dhawan refuses to play Lakhan, Feb 2) gave a thumbs-down to his idea of casting them as Lakhan. So for now, the modern version to Subhash Ghai's 1989 super-hit lies at the backburner.
And then you know that Shetty went back to his favourite subject Golmaal to set the stage for the fourth instalment of the franchise (SAB GOLMAAL HAI: Rohit Shetty to start Golmaal 4!, February 9).

Golmaal has turned out to be a successful franchise for the Chennai Express director and we see no reason why he should stumble with the fourth part. SpotboyE has it that a few days ago, he had a word with his Golmaal actors Ajay Devgn and Tusshar Kapoor about the same. If all goes well, both will continue to be a part of the series.

The latest development in this regard is that Shetty is going around in the industry circles saying that he plans to hit theatres with Golmaal 4 on August 15, 2017. A source says, "It makes sense to release films over a holiday weekend. Cash registers ring louder then. Everybody in Bollywood including Shetty knows this. Who wouldn't avail of such an opportunity if it exists?"
