Here’s another reason to add Saaho to your watchlist of upcoming movies! After news that ace action director Peng Zhang (the Last Samurai, Hellboy II) had been roped in to choreograph an eight-minute long action-packed climax, in a recreated Abu Dhabi desert setting, comes another exciting piece of information. It has been learnt that not just Peng Zhang but ace Hollywood action director Kenny Bates will also be masterminding a killer action sequence in the movie. Bates in the man and action brain behind movies like Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol and the Transformers franchise.
The team of Saaho was reportedly in Italy to orchestrate the action-packed scene which is being created by Bates. A source close to the film told Mumbai Mirror that the scene involves helicopter stunts and was initially going to be shot in India. But it was difficult getting permission, so the team flew to Europe where an Italian military helicopter was sourced. Experts were on the sets throughout the shoot to ensure that safety measures were in place, elaborates the report.
Meanwhile for the film’s climax that has been helmed by action direction Pen Zhang, “a set resembling a ruined place was erected on a 10-acre land and special black soil was strewn over it to give it an authentic desert look. A team of 100 fighters from across the globe were hired for a larger-than-life action sequence involving Prabhas and the baddies. It cost Rs 70 crore and was choreographed by the internationally-acclaimed action director Peng Zhang of Hollywood biggies like The Last Samurai, Hellyboy II: The Golden Army and Rush Hour 3.”.
