Talking about the movie, Saand Ki Aankh is based on a true story. Before 1998, Johri village in the interiors of Uttar Pradesh was just like any other village in India. But during this time something extraordinary started, which took this village to national and international levels of success and fame. As a result of which this village had become an inspiring example for the entire nation.

At the age of 50, grannies Chandro and Prakashi picked up guns for the sake of their daughters for their bright future. They did not want their daughters to share the same fate of a lifetime of suppression as they do. They discovered their own skill of being exceptional shooters. Despite all the odds, they won 352 medals each in the course of their veteran professional life as a shooter.

Following the exciting story of the world's oldest sharpshooters Chandro & Prakashi Tomar, the drama marks the directorial debut of acclaimed scriptwriter Tushar Hiranandani. Set in the hinterlands of UP, the film is all set to have a Diwali release.

Apart from the lead cast of Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar,  the film is also supported by a talented ensemble star cast including Prakash Jha, Vineet Singh Kumar among others, making the film one with powerhouse performances.
