Former India fast bowler and actor Salil Ankola has tested positive for COVID- 19. In a post on social media, he broke the news by posting a picture from his hospital bed and informing his fans about it. It’s Salil Ankola’s birthday tomorrow, but unfortunately, he will be in the hospital owing to the COVID-19 diagnosis. In his post, he wrote that it will be an ‘unforgettable birthday’, and that it’s scary to go through this, but he will bounce back soon.
Sharing a picture from the hospital bed, Salil Ankola wrote, “Bringing in my birthday tomorrow with COVID-19 catching up with me. Unforgettable birthday. It’s scary to go through this, but will be needing all your blessings to come through with this. Will be back soon full throttle.” Ankola will be turning 53 on Monday. He has been away from the small screen for a while but had recently taken up the role of the chairman of the senior selection committee of Mumbai Cricket Team.
Salil Ankola recently made a comeback to cricket after a long time as the chairman of the selection committee. In a recent interview, he mentioned how he’s back into the cricketing fold and would like to focus on that.
According to Hindustan Times, Salil Ankola has been getting a few acting offers but had turned them down to focus on his new role. HT quoted him saying, “No half measures now that I’ve come back to serve Mumbai cricket. Since the news became public, I’ve got a couple of offers—a Marathi film and a Hindi web series—but I’ve refused both. I proudly told them that I’m into cricket now.”
Salil Ankola has appeared in a number of television shows, and also a few Hindi films. He had also participated in Bigg Boss in 2006.
