Salman back in Shuddhi, to be produced by Karan Johar and Ronnie Screwvala

Shuddhi has had lots of highs and lows even before going on floors. First Hrithik Roshan opted out, followed by Kareena Kapoor.

Then KJo got Salman who later walked out because he didn't like the fact that KJo was a silent spectator in the AIB Roast when stand-up comedian Tanmay Bhatt made an unfair, nasty remark about one of his family members (Salman threatens AIB's Tanmay, Feb 2, 2015; Salman says No to Shuddhi, May 9, 2015). Salman and KJo patched up later and are fine with each other now.

Back to the Shuddhi woes then. Post Salman's exit, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone stepped into Hrithik and Kareena's shoes, but soon the couple prioritised Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani over Shuddhi. Then, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt got in (Varun, Alia in Shuddhi? May 21, 2015)- but eventually the film didn't go on floors.

Karan Malhotra who directed Agneepath and Brothers for KJo was originally supposed to helm Shuddhi. It remains to be seen, after this 360-degree turn, whether Malhotra now holds the reins to Shuddhi or not.
