After enthralling fans with his power-packed performances in movies, actor Riteish Deshmukh is all set to don a director’s hat. He is making his directorial debut with the Marathi film titled ‘Ved’, which stars his wife Genelia Deshmukh as the leading actress. The project marks her acting debut in Marathi cinema as well as her return to the showbiz world. Much to everyone’s delight, Riteish’s dear friend Salman Khan will reportedly have a special cameo in the film.
Yes, you read that right! It is no secret that Salman and Riteish share a good bond of friendship and are very close to each other. They recently bonded very well as they hosted together IIFA 2022. According to the latest report in Etimes TV, the Sultan actor will be shooting for a special song in Ved. Salman will soon return to Mumbai to shoot for the song. Talking about his directorial debut, Ritesh in an interview stated that after being in front of the camera for 20 years, he took a big leap to stand behind it for the first time. “As I direct my first marathi film, i humbly ask you all for your good wishes and blessings. Be a part of this journey, be a part of this madness,” the Masti actor was quoted saying.
Talking about the film, Genelia said that being born in Maharashtra, her heart yearned to do a film in Marathi for years. ‘Ved’ will hit the theatres on August 12, 2022.
