Shah Rukh’s Raees Train Journey Leads To A Stampede In Vadodra, 1 Dead
Little did Shah Rukh Khan know that his presence would result in someone losing his life. One person died and several were injured as SRK’s train reached Vadodra railway station and fans thronged for a glimpse of the superstar
In a rather unfortunate incident, Shah Rukh Khan’s train promotion for his upcoming film Raees, ended on a bad note!
A person, named Farid Khan Sherani, lost his life in a stampede at Vadodra railway station. Shah Rukh Khan boarded August Kranti Express last evening. His promotional stunt was to cover most of the stations enroute Delhi, Vadodra being one of them.
When the train reached an already overcrowded Vadodra railway station, Shah Rukh decided not to step down from the train and spoke to the fans through a loudspeaker.
Farid Khan Sherani, an avid follower of the actor, had come at the railway platform with his wife and daughter. As the train left the station, the crowd rushed to the exit, which resulted in a big chaos and a near-stampede, in which several persons, including Sherani, collapsed.
Sherani along with other severely injured people were rushed to nearby hospitals, while others who were still trapped in the stamped were helped by police personnel and passers-by. Sherani, who was rushed to a private hospital in Vadodara, was declared dead on arrival. Reportedly, he was unwell even before the incident.
Not just fans, two constables of the Railway police also collapsed during the chaos. The constables are undergoing treatment at SSG hospital and are said to be out of danger.
