Of course I love South Indian films myself. Especially during the lockdown watched so many. Idea is cinema is universal now more that ever. So there should be no boundaries in indian art and artists. And thank you I love you all very much. https://t.co/oXFlDPZuzX— Shahid Kapoor (@shahidkapoor) June 16, 2023
Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is one of the underappreciated artists in the Hindi film industry. Having made a name for himself with his versatile performances and dancing skills, he is currently taking over the OTT space. With hit projects like Bloody Daddy and Farzi under his belt, he is currently making the headlines for his controversial statements during his interviews. After coming under fire for his ‘marriage is about women fixing men’ statement causing an uproar, he had gone on to claim that the ‘south audience haven’t accepted Hindi movies’.
Recently, he hosted an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session on Twitter, where he was asked by a south fan why he would pass such a comment. On Friday, a netizen asked him, “Sir you said south Indian audience don't watch Hindi films? Why? You have such thinking we love to watch every movie if it is good. We love movies sir.” Keeping his clarification very vague, the actor spoke about how cinema has become universal now. He added that when it comes to Indian art and artists, there should be no boundaries.
