Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh Surpasses Gully Boy And Judwaa 2's Lifetime Collections In Last 7 Days
There’s no stopping Shahid Kapoor's Kabir Singh! After taking the box office by storm with a record weekend collection of over Rs 70 crore (being a non-holiday release), the movie is bulldozing its way to record books.

The movie's dream run at the box office has surprisingly surpassed the collections of the biggest box office hits, creating a new box office record for Shahid Kapoor.

Within six days of its release, Kabir Singh has collected a whopping Rs 120.81 crore. Trending on weekdays, the film earned Rs 13.61 crores on day seven making the total Rs 134.42 crores thereby surpassing the lifetime collections of the Ranveer Singh-starrer Gully Boy (134.21 crores) and Varun Dhawan's Judwaa 2 (138 crores) by today.

Going by the humongous craze of the film even on weekdays, across the country, trade pundits are of the opinion that Kabir Singh is likely to enter Rs 200 crore club soon!

The record-breaking success of Kabir Singh reinstates the actor's faith in a film high on content, performance, critical acclaim and box office.

Kabir Singh is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster Arjun Reddy and follows the story of an angry lover who takes to a life of drugs and alcohol after his girlfriend marries another man. While Shahid Kapoor and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga are basking in the glory of the movie’s success, the movie has been criticized by some for glamorising  misogyny. However, recently Shahid Kapoor said that he is not affected by ek-dedh mahine ke comments.
