Flora Saini is also known by her screen name Asha Saini and she has been inching towards success with her Kannada and Telugu films. While the actor was scaling great heights on the professional front, her personal life was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. Saini has been a victim of domestic violence and suffered sexual abuse at the hands of a producer, Gaurang Doshi. She was in a serious relationship with the producer and talked about the issues for the first time in 2018. Now, the actress has took to her IG handle and reposted her story shared by Humans of Bombay.
In a clip shared by Flora, the actor got candid about her abusive relationship which lasted for 14 months and revealed that at the age of 20, she was at the peak of her career. However, it all went downhill owing to the traumatic and abusive relationship.
“I was in love, he was a famous producer. But soon things changed….he turned abusive, he’s box my face and punch my private parts. He took my phone and forced me to quit work. For 14 months, he didn’t let me talk to anyone. Until one evening he punched me in the stomach, and I ran away.”
During the same interview, Flora also revealed how her brutal and scary past took a toll on her. “I began living with mom and dad. It took me months to recover. Slowly, I got back to the thing I liked the most-acting! It took time but I’m happy today, I’ve even found love,” shared Flora.
It was the 2018’s MeToo movement that gave her the courage to talk about her toxic relationship for the first time. In an interview with News18, Flora mentioned that she was in a live-in relationship with Gaurang despite her parents' disapproval. Flora recalled how Gaurang had cut all her ties with her family and started beating her suddenly without any reason.
