Sundeep Kishan Derived Inspiration For A1 Express From Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De! India
Shah Rukh Khan’s portrayal of Kabir Khan in Chak De! India was Sundeep Kishan’s point of reference for A1 Express
Sundeep Kishan, who has given a blockbuster with his hockey drama A1 Express, revealed the inspiration behind his role. According to the rising PAN-India star, Shah Rukh Khan in Chak De! India became his point of reference while essaying his character. Talking about his role in the sports flick, Sundeep said, "As an actor, you are always looking for inspiration to add value to your character. My love for hockey began with SRK as Kabir Khan in Chak De! India. So, I derived a lot from it."
He adds, "He has done an impeccable job in the film. I had immense pressure on me to look true to my character and the sport, and that is why I had to give in 200% to the process." He also revealed, "The first-ever live sport I watched was Hockey World Cup Finals - India VS Pakistan." Notably, the actor shed 16 kilos to get into the skin of his character and trained extensively for 6-8 months in hockey before going on the floors to look authentic on screen.
A1 Express was one of the first films to release post lockdown and managed to win the box office. In fact, the Hindi dubbed version of the Telugu drama went on to trend on Youtube in more than five countries, owing to Sundeep's fanbase in the Hindi belt.
Meanwhile, the star is gearing up for his next release Gully Rowdy, and has announced two OTT projects, Vivaha Bhojanambu and Kasada Tabara. He also has Vi Anand's Sci-fi, SK28, in the pipeline.
