Suniel Shetty writes a heartfelt note for newlyweds Athiya Shetty and son-in-law KL Rahul, congratulating the couple
On 23rd January, Suniel Shetty’s daughter Athiya Shetty tied the knot with cricketer KL Rahul in an intimate ceremony. The couple exchanged wedding vows in the presence of their family members and close friends at Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse and Suniel looked after all the arrangements. The doting father even got emotional and broke down in tears while Athiya was taking pheras with Rahul. Suniel also penned a heartfelt note for their 'bachchas' and congratulated the couple via a sweet post on social media.
Taking to his Instagram handle, the Dhadkan actor shared a photo of Athiya and Rahul from their wedding and wrote, “A hand to hold and a reason to believe because sometimes the right place is a person and the ingredients love and trust … congratulations and Godbless my bachchas @athiyashetty @klrahul.” Suniel’s post amassed love from many Bollywood celebrities and industry friends. His former co-star Shilpa Shetty commented, “Many many congratulations to you and Mana. Earlier, it was reported that Suniel got emotional and was in tears seeing his daughter taking pheras with Rahul. An industry insider present at the wedding told Bollywoodlife, “Suniel had this very cool Anna image. But he is also a very emotional person and a doting father. It was heartening to see him happy and at the same time tear up to see his little daughter become a bride. He was emotional all through the pheras.”
The insider added, “He (Suniel) looked after everything himself and ensured that everybody attending the wedding, inside and out, were comfortable and taken good care of. The father in him truly took over and he played the perfect host.”After the wedding, Suniel along with his son Ahan distributed sweets to the media and thanked them for their support and cooperation. The actor told the paparazzi that the newlywed couple will be hosting a wedding reception in Mumbai after IPL.
