Sushant Singh Rajput Death: PIL Filed In Supreme Court Seeking Probe Status Report From CBI In Late Actor’s Death Case
Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, which was earlier being investigated by the Mumbai Police, was then handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after the Supreme Court passed an order. The actor’s death on June 14 sent shockwaves across the nation, and fans have been demanding justice for the late actor. Many have started questioning the delay, and now a PIL has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the status of the case.

According to a report in ANI, a PIL has been filed in the apex court seeking direction to CBI to submit a status report in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Times Now reported that the petition states that a time frame should be fixed for the completion of the investigation. The petition reportedly mentioned that the Supreme Court passed the order for a CBI inquiry on August 19, 2020 and it has been four months now, and the CBI is yet to conclude its investigation.

The petition further states that there has been a delay in the conclusion of the investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. “Even in serious offences like murder the law stipulates filing of charge sheets in ninety days but in the present case the premium investigating agency has failed miserably in their role and the unnecessary delay in the present case is bringing bad name to the administration of justice not only in our country but across the globe. The petitioner therefore, is approaching this Hon’ble Court seeking its intervention,” adds the petition, as quoted by Times Now.
